Review: Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo |
|
I subscribed to Birchbox in December with the intent of doing product reviews every month. Then I went back to school and started taking 6 classes (while working as a digital producer and columnist). Suffice to say I’ve been a little bit behind hence the infrequent posts. Aside from that, I have been trying new products almost every week and have, so far, loved them all. Instead of reviewing each box every month, I figured I would give a more detailed description of the products I actually have tried.
First up: Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo Overall rating: 5/5 It is no secret that dry shampoo saves us time and energy in the mornings when our bed is just too comfortable or we are running behind schedule. The problem is, a lot of dry shampoos make our hair look white and, therefore, reveal our not-so-glamorous secret. So when I opened my January box to find a $44 dry shampoo sample I thought to myself, “ok, now we’re cookin’.” Birchbox describes the product as: |
“Stylist-to-the-stars Oribe brings dry shampoo back to its roots (pun intended) with a micro-fine powder formula that absorbs grease, grime, and build-up without adding texture, grittiness, or weight to your hair.”
Also very important to note that this product smells freaking awesome. I cannot stand products that smell overly-sweet or powdery. And given the nature of dry shampoo, a lot of mists give off powder sent leaving me holding my breath but also relieved that styling my hair that day is, in essence, over.
Would I buy again? Oh yeah. The biggest downside to this whole Birchbox thing is knowing how wonderful certain (expensive) products are. Trying this Oribe dry shampoo has me dreading buying the cheap stuff and waiting for the next occasion for me to request an almost $50 hair product. General consensus: It rocked. |
