Summer Beauty: July wish list
|
|
Just when you think to yourself “Ok, I think I have everything I need,” something else pretty and shimmery and smelling like roses hits the beauty market and awaits your purchase. (Wait, when did we ever say anything like that?)
As I make my way through the coolest articles from the coolest publications in pursuit of the latest and greatest beauty products, I happen to always find myself wanting more. Working in the beauty industry has left me feeling limitless in terms of the amount of products I want (need) to try.

Fresh: Rose Floral Toner
I received a sample of this good-good a few months ago and was very pleased with the results. It made my skin feel clean for once; something that has always been a struggle given my history with problematic skin. While most toners are applied via cotton ball, this one is a spray-on (yippee!) which means it’s definitely fancier… definitely.
Living Proof: Perfect hair Day (PhD) Dry Shampoo
In all my years of “yeah, I have to wash my hair everyday… no dry shampoo doesn’t really work” I have never been so happy to be proven wrong. This stuff is the real deal and worth the money. Get rid of your $3.99 bottle and *trust me* on this. There is no white residue, no crazy volume and no need to wear in a ponytail. It’s just so good, I can’t even put it into words…
Jo Malone: Rare Teas
THESE ARE ANDROGYNOUS COLOGNES. Not a brand new concept but still worth capitalizing. I came across them in Bloomingdales last month and jumped for joy not only because of the social-awareness part but also because I am one of those people who h8888s “girly” perfumes. Maybe I don’t want to smell like a sugar cookie, ok? Maybe I want to smell like bergamot and tobacco. Ok? Jeeeeez.
TanTowel: Self Tan Towelettes
Last year I decided I was going to stop lying (baking) in the sun. Not that I ever really fried myself to a crisp… but I was never as totally sun-concious as I should have been. Then I realized 2 things: first, I would like to avoid skin cancer as best I can and second, I would like to avoid wrinkles as best I can. Not lying in the sun kills both those birds. Also though, being tan is nice… hence the TanTowel. It is never streaky, orange or shimmery. It just does what it’s supposed to do. That’s the only way I can describe it.
Herbivore: Pink clay mask
Herbivore is such a cool brand… like I think we can all pretty much agree. The packaging is cool, the name is cool, the stuff they put inside the packing is cool… This mask is on my wishlist because clay masks are the BEST. The feeling of them drying on your face and then rubbing it off with warm water and a washcloth is luxe-y. Highly want.
