JUST BEING DEVINE

Less than exciting purchases

Picture

It’s beginning to look a lot like...asking for things you aren't excited about. Fashion is great until you need to surrender your funds over to functional clothes.

Me too, Ryan.

1. Blazers

Maybe you are graduating and need to look presentable in an interview, maybe your old blazer from high school just isn’t cutting it, maybe you just want to be fancy. Whatever the reason, you asked for a blazer because you need one but you most likely aren’t itching to rip open the box.

2. New sneakers

When your Nike’s are all holey and dirty <<<<<

Kind of like actually going for a run, no one ever jumped out of their seat and explained their undeniable excitement for buying new sneakers.

3. Socks

Ok this one is half a lie. I get really, embarrassingly excited about socks...especially insulated socks. Maybe it’s because I live in the arctic north and am perpetually cold but busting open a new package of socks has me thanking my mom in all sorts of opera voices.

4. Work pants

THE WORST thing to shop for. Pants always fit when you don’t need them and never fit when you do. No matter what, I feel like I am always in desperate need of “work pants” - you know the type; black, sensible, kind of boring, nothing you would ever wear *out*.

5. White t-shirts

Another half lie. When you need a white t-shirt, you NEED a white t-shirt. Finding a good one is like finding jeans that fit but once you do it is like the heavens have opened up and suddenly your closet is the land of limitless possibilities. Until, of course, you spill on it. Lol.

6. Winter coats

Every year since my freshman year, I have threatened to transfer as soon as it starts getting cold. I hate HATE hate the cold. And what’s even worse than having to find a winter coat is having to make a winter coat your holiday gift. There is nothing quite like saying, “no grandma, I don’t want a bag anymore; I want a coat.” *Sigh*
